<image:title>Foundations</image:title>
<image:caption>It was on a week’s retreat at Team House in Melton Mowbray, early 2018, where sparks of collective insight spun together to form a vision for human development. Having felt stifled and hemmed-in by the default approach to Learning & Development - one that is fundamentally cognitive, we began with the provocation; “Let’s stop trying to organise personality from personality, and instead bring a consciousness of the whole the self in” As practitioners, we’ve experienced first-hand the impact, the creativity and the joy in a whole system perspective. With that, we trusted our intuition and embarked on a week of experimentation. With no expectations about outcomes, or a known process in place, what emerged was a philosophy that honours approaches to learning from the past, and yet beyond that, builds increasing capacity for self-facilitated change. Defining moments In our pursuit of creating something together - not knowing what, but something, seemingly out of nothing - we gained traction. And in those moments, we experienced phenomena that enabled us to move between bandwidths and modalities of learning. Acceptance There were moments of not knowing, feeling lost, out of tune with each other and where we were headed. These were moments of vulnerability, and we let go of the temptation to cover them over, or retreat into familiar patterns of ‘this is how we should do things’. Instead, we caught those vulnerabilities and held them in acceptance. We stepped into the unknown. Bessel Van der Kolk* helps us to nest this experience in neurology. He says: “The amygdala (the smoke detector in the brain) doesn’t make such judgements; it just gets you ready to fight back or escape…(but) as long as you are not too upset, your frontal lobes can restore your balance” We felt those edges of discomfort and did not fight or escape. We pivoted on the trust between us and stepped into the potential beyond what was comfortable. Participant – observer And so, whilst we worked on it, whatever ‘it’ was to become, it was also working on us. We introduced a daily meditation to our working practice, and with that, we became the experiment. Like 'participant–observers’, we were able to articulate a process of change, not just informed by expertise, but by witnessing change unfold through ourselves in real-time. Body In moments of heightened states, or when a particular perspective was strong, we invited attention to the body and breath. This was a sign that a more distant inner-voice was yet to be included. We noticed opposing voices, and played with micro-movements in the body and breath to bring the system back into balance. We explored the multiple dimensions of self, and what became present for us both, was a self-organising centre. Divergence At times we felt nervous we were losing our thread, both with the work and each other. We were diverging from our original focus, only to find what looked on the surface like rabbit holes to get lost in. We encouraged each other to step through them with full commitment, and what we found was deeper insight that airlifted us back to clarity. Listening We were called to listen more deeply to the words we were repeatedly using. What do we keep saying because there’s a deeper insight that’s not being heard? It was an identity defining moment when we instinctively referred to the business as ‘Learning Frequencies’. We decided not to lock down the brand and website as it is, but instead put front and centre what was truly beyond. And as soon as we redefined the edges, more possibility flooded in. Time A running undercurrent was our awareness of time and timing. Although our careers have grown up to the tune of ‘speed up’, ‘get it done’, ‘efficiency first’, we slowed down to notice more creative threads emerging. We sensed what wanted to evolve from our collective insight and gave space for the dots to join. A more expansive entity has formed, and having front loaded the work in this way, what’s left to do can flow seamlessly. Leadership “Awareness is curative” – Miles Downey Since the retreat our meditation practice has continued every day. Attending to self, daily, has had noticeable affects elsewhere in life. Regardless of how present we were in the practice, over time our range of tolerance to complexity has grown. Yes, there have been moments of defaulting to old, reactive patterns, but we’ve found ourselves bouncing out of it with a greater capacity to respond. From the daily practice the centred self grows stronger, and pulses through those periods of reactivity.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We live in a world that’s always dynamically moving. To stay relevant requires an approach to change that’s attuned to the conditions beneath the surface. We collaborate with clients to develop a strong orientation from which to approach the work, shining light on past, present and emerging narratives and distilling the motives for change. We look across the organisation to find areas of traction, where people can be mobilised to create new directions for growth. Clients benefit from our ongoing support as they embed these changes in the organisation.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Services - Team cohesion</image:title>
<image:caption>A blend of qualities is essential for teams to be at their best and fulfill their purpose. But when tensions flair up and the symphony of notes becomes discordant, individuals lose their ground and disengage. With creative approaches, we provide teams with a common language for exploring their unique differences. We help them recognise their development gaps, exploring the dynamic tensions between opposite styles in an holistic way. Teams learn to re-organise their efforts to sustain a state of flow under pressure. They move forward with deeper trust in each other, and a renewed energy and focus on their common purpose.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Services - Leaderfulness</image:title>
<image:caption>Leadership is taking on a new level of complexity. Leaders are tasked with having to steer the ship and get the best out of teams. At the same time, they need to manage their own wellbeing and leadership presence. We work with leaders on a 1:1 or group basis to develop the self-awareness, know-how and skills to sustain a state of thrive. We help you confront tough decisions with clarity and openness, and to lead in a way that cultivates energy, momentum and flow. In times of stuckness, our distinctly appreciative approach allows creative breakthroughs to emerge. Leaders go forward inspired with a deeper belief in themselves, and the courage to generate change.</image:caption>
